Experience

Equipped with 30 years of experience designing, constructing, and investigating projects within the built environment, Matt coordinates Impact Forensics’ Buildings & Infrastructure activities.  His experience with over a thousand matters has familiarized him with the role of technical details, standards, and construction practices in the legal process.  Matt’s investigations involve large-scale projects & complex contractual considerations from nearly every stakeholder perspective – owner, design professional, contractor, supplier, and worker. 

His legal clients represent nearly every type of stakeholder in the construction process – owners, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, construction trades, architects, engineers, surveyors, government agencies, plaintiffs, workers, equipment suppliers, and material suppliers. 

Matt has testified as an expert in over 80 hearings, depositions, & trials.  An effective communicator, Matt has served as a featured speaker at claims, engineering, and legal gatherings around the US and abroad.  He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in multiple states, a member of American Arbitration Association’s Panel of Arbitrators, and a U.S. Patent holder.

Matt graduated with honors from North Carolina State University with a degree in civil engineering in 1994 and is a founding partner of Impact Forensics, PLLC.
